How to overcome writer’s block
- Fill your page – It is always advisable to put down whatever that comes to your mind on a paper. It is always better to refine your writing instead of wasting time on crafting each sentence carefully. Your sentences may not be perfect, but you can reach the required word count.
- Set a target – You can start with one or two sentences, or may be a paragraph in a couple of days. That way you can achieve your target. You may be sitting before the TV, but scribbling down a few sentences can help you get the writing started.
- Plan – Select some topics so that you can add on to each topic later. It is important to create a structure. Creating a structure will help you retain command over your writings.
- Take a break – There are times when you don’t get the proper words and sentences just don’t flow from your mind. In such situations take a break, walk down the street, eat something, etc..
- Keep a notepad– You never know, you will get the best idea in the most unexpected times: in the bus, while shopping or walking around. So keep a notepad with you and write down your ideas.
- Write something else – Start writing something and get it started. That is more important.
- Try a new location – Sometimes, sitting at your home and start writing may not work. So why don’t you head to the park or library? A brand new ambience might help you get brand new ideas.
- Get qualified – Writing course is the ideal way to make you a confident writer and helps you introduce you to new styles of writing.
