Having visited the Tutankhamun exhibition in London in February 2020, and then being furloughed from work, I wanted to explore a bit more about Egyptology. This was a really good overview with enough detail but not too much, to give a good flavour of the early Egyptian days and the key kings of the era. The only thing perhaps I would have like to see was a few more pictures but that is being a bit picky! If you have an interest in Egyptology, want to learn at your own speed but still don’t want something too dumbed down, I would recommend this as a good starting point. I enjoyed the quiz sections but again all of these need to be 10 questions (one only had 5 questions and another had 8). I would also fully endorse making your own notes as you go along. I had an A5 book and wrote about 4-5 pages for each chapter. For me, doing this helped me learn and take in the information better. I am now doing the Elearn College course on Gemmology which again looks very interesting. Thank you!

I also visited the Tutankhamun exhibition in London in November 2019, and then being furloughed, and having to work from home, I wanted to used my free time and expand my basic knowledge of Egyptology. This was a good overview, however the parrts of the pyramids in Giza were repeated in section 5 and in section 8, as the other review mentioned all the questions need to be 10, and need to be more challanging and relevant to the section rather than refering to information in previous sections. Also putting information about artifacts like the Rosetta Stone and Tutankhasmun although intresting was not relevant to the sections they were in. But a very good course, I made notes as I went along and found this very helpful in retaining all the details. A very nice course but could have been structered better.

really interesting! i haven’t studied Egyptology before so it was all new to me and i feel like i’ve gained some really valuable knowledge and i’m certainly hoping to continue to learn about the study of Egyptology! a great investment of time spent during furlough. The course, i found, could have been more creative in the layout/ structure, i.e. including interactive sections and others means of teaching than just reading. i also found that the way of testing the students at the end of each unit could’ve done with a creative spruce; more of a varied means by which to test students than just questionnaires. i also found that some of the questions didn’t seem linked to the information provided in the unit reading, but perhaps i missed them. all in all, a really good course i’m v happy to have completed and i’m looking to keep learning about egypt!

I have always been interested in Egyptology having been on five Nile Cruises and besotted with all the TV programs on the subject. When ‘lock down’ came it was an ideal time for me to to an online course. I have really enjoyed it and have already booked my sixth Nile Cruise for 2021, God Willing!

Excellent and detailed course! Really enjoyed and it makes you want to do more and learn more about Egyptology. Egypt is a fasciatating place and the people are very noble: you can see it. So is there past and you can learn why that is during this course. Really put a lot of study into this and achieved a 91% past, which I am very happy about.
