The course will also provide knowledge about well-being, self-esteem and emotional intelligence that may influence a child’s personality, relationships and self-control. It will also inform about the connections between psychological health and aggressive or violent behaviour in children. The course is designed to assist to understand challenging behaviours like bullying, conduct disorders and defiant disorders, and how to manage them.
The course is aimed at creating awareness about the social situations that affect the behaviour of children. It gives an understanding of the various factors that lead to undesirable behaviour in children. It is also important to understand the significance of well-being and self-esteem in the development of a child. At the same time, the course emphasises on the influence that emotional intelligence has on the child. A child’s temperament is heavily influenced by response to external events and a range of issues like attachment disorder can add to children’s stress.
It is of utmost importance that for the society to function successfully and reduce all anti-social behaviour, breakdowns in families, mental illness and addictions, the children needs to be brought up in environments where all their psychological needs are met. Children need to feel secure to be able to flourish. This can be achieved only through healthy emotional connection with family and their peers.
This course focuses on children and gives practical insight into how the development of children can be positively affected; how their needs can be met and how their challenging behaviour can be managed. The course will help learners to develop their skills in the field of child behaviour.
